Laursen Piano Service has serviced this Yamaha U3 since 1996, giving us nearly 30 years of firsthand knowledge of its history and maintenance.

The U3 is a full-size, 52-inch professional upright made in Hamamatsu, Japan. Its taller cabinet and longer strings give it greater bass depth, projection and tonal range than a smaller console or studio upright. This makes the U3 a longstanding choice for serious students, teachers, studios, churches and musicians who want substantial acoustic performance without the space required for a grand piano.

This piano has a polished mahogany cabinet, double-wheel casters and its matching bench. The cabinet is in excellent condition. The action, dampers and pedals are functioning properly, the strings are clean, and the piano was most recently tuned to A440 concert pitch.

Our inspection documented two age related soundboard cracks. Neither is producing a buzz or affecting the piano's sound. The hammers have normal grooving from use, and voicing can be performed as part of the final preparation to further refine the tone.
